Blackstrap Lake
Blackstrap Lake is a 10 mile long, man-made lake developed in the 1960s for irrigation purposes. Water levels are maintained at a constant level through a canal linked from the Saskatchewan River. This keeps its water fresh. Over the years this lake has become one of Saskatchewan’s hot spots for recreational activities; boating, tubing, wake boarding, skiing, windsurfing, sailing, snowmobiling, and year round fishing.

Blackstrap Provincial Park
Blackstrap Provincial Park is home the man-made mountain, built for the 1971 Canadian Winter Games.
The park also is home to:
- Public beaches
- Camping sites
- Boat launching facilities
- Cycling trails
- Cross country skiing trails
Fishing
Blackstrap Lake has excellent fishing both summer and winter, stocked with Pike, Pickerel, Walleye, and Perch. An annual fishing derby allows you the additional fun and opportunity to meet fellow Blackstrap enthusiast.
Wildlife
The Midnight Sun Estates area is full of wildlife and opportunities for the photographer in all of us. Keep your eye out for elk, moose, or deer with their fawn as they make their way through your yard to the lake edge. Bird enthusiasts will love the wide array of bluebirds, meadowlarks, robins, hawks, eagles, and everyone’s favorite the pelicans.

Golfing
Midnight Sun Estates development is just walking distance to Pitts Golf Course. This 9-hole course is located along the lake edge offering breathtaking views, is challenging yet suitable for both the beginner and the experienced golfer. An annual golf tournament is held, giving another opportunity to have fun competition while meeting fellow Blackstrap residents.
Hole in the Wall
This revered Peruvian 5 star restaurant is located just 1 km south of Midnight Sun Estates. Perfect for those romantic dinners, family gatherings, or company functions. Hole in the Wall also offer classes for those interested in enriching their own home dining.
Schools
Midnight Sun Estates is located just 6 miles east of Dundurn Elementary School. Known for their exceptional reading programs, it is the perfect place to have your children build a strong educational foundation.
Hanley Composite High School offers an excellent array of both academic and extracurricular activities. The small enrollment of 20-30 students per grade creates a family like setting allowing teachers to give additional one-on-one assistance to their students.
